Savourydiary | " Lets eat at Commonground."

The other day, my friend decided to celebrate my birthday over at Blue Jasmine. Heard it was good. They are serving Thai Buffet! Can you imagine?! Free Flow of tom yum goodness? Free Flow of  Mango Sticky Rice?!

I know right! Can you already smell the lemon grass and lime leaves? I sure can.

Was slightly dissapointed to know it we were late to call in for booking and it was fully booked. So we decided to brain storm. We wanted to go for The Landmark buffet and then we realised, Ramadan yer nak, confirm tak makan banyak. Jangan nak waste current. So we planned on having ala carte.

Upon searching and googling, we realise Tampiness Hub is the best choice, because one of us is ending work at 6.30pm at Tampiness and we saw lots of Halal varieties. I have decided on having Saap Saap Thai. Well, an alternative to Blue Jasmine i supposed.

But as soon as I reached, i searched for Saap Saap Thai, and i was Saap Saap dissapointed. yet again! As the it was filled packed and the que was long. Was it a day for Tom Yum guys? Or is it nice? Please share! :)

Lucky for us, we are not those fussy eaters whereby as soon as the call for prayers are heard we need to eat. We just had some drinks to batalkan puase. Yer laa, kalau dah jumpe sesame melayu kan, confirm ade yang lambat. heee.

So we hang around outside starbucks while waiting for the rest and one of my friend said, " Lets eat at common ground. "

You know, me being very melayu. I ingat common ground tuh macam common area. macam common ground. kirekan macam, kawan i ni nak beli makan pasar malam sikit sane sikit itu jadi banyak beh ramai-ramai duduk kat lantai, makan. you know? Kate melayu mah, mesti lek lantai.

Sekali, she walked pass starbucks and started queing. Im like, HOLD UP! Why are you here for? only to realise, commonground bukan tempat lepak melayu la guys.

It is a nicely set bistro for you to dine in. Melayu boleh makan, it is HALAL.

What will catch my attention is, anything with runny egg yolk. Like half boiled eggs, or eggs benedicts. So their brunch set menu was the one that really really got me salivating only to be dissapointed again that it is not served full day.

Anyway,

BLACK PEPPER BEEF TENDERLOIN

Ordered Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin. Medium Rare and was not dissapointed.
This reminds me of Tony Romas beef. It is tender, easy to cut through not hard for you to chew and the black pepper sauce is thick and spicy just like how I like it.

I give this 4/5 stars.

BREADED FRIED STEAK WITH CABONARA

One of my girl's partner actually bought this, so I can't do a taste test for you.
But what i can say is, he ate it with the only complain of ," wah so small ah?"

Yeah, the pictures on the menu were bigger. So dont be deceived.

LINGUINE WITH POACHED EGGS

This is of course by yours trully. hehe. I ordered this because of the poached eggs.  This is creamy linguine with turkey ham and bacon. Nothing fancy. Nothing WOW. But it is edible.

3/5?

RIBEYE STEAK

Beef Brisket Fussili

I think this is my personal favourite out of all the dish I have tasted. You can really taste the beef flavour and the beef is sooooo tender, it is almost melting in your mouth. This is 2 thumbs up for me.

4.5/5

I will certainly go to commonground again to try their brunch menu.
And will keep you guys updated.

Meanwhile, do give commonground a try and lets see if we have the common grounds? HEH.
